Really Really Free Market

  • Argyle Mall Bus Stops 1925 Dundas Street London, Ontario, N5W 5Z5 Canada (map)

Come and speak with Zack, get yourself some free things and, meet your fellow community!

What is the Really Really Free Market?

It’s a participatory event… kind of like a community picnic/potluck/musical jam session/garage sale, where everything is FREE! It is only as big as you, our neighbours and myself make it.

What kind of STUFF can I give away?

Usable items that are in good shape. Food or drinks. A service (like a haircut or a ride later for someone who doesn’t have a car). A skill/talent you can teach others. Songs or artwork. A performance. Seeds or plants. Smiles and hugs. Or anything else!

SO WE’LL BE bartering/trading, right?

Nope. Bartering/trading go something like this: I’ve got this great shirt here, what can you offer me for it? The RRFM goes something like this: I’ve got this great shirt that I don’t really wear enough. Do you want it? Great, it’s yours!

What if I don’t have anything to give?

We think everyone can contribute something. Remember, the RRFM is more than physical things and it’s more than trade (check out the question above). If you can’t think of what to give, bring a joke, a poem, or a hug.

Why would I want to participate?

Because it feels good to give and receive. Because you have nice things at home that you don’t use anymore and that someone else would love. Because hanging out with friends and meeting new friends is fun!

Who makes the RRFM happen?

The RRFM in London is being initiated by Zack Ramsey as part of his city councillor candidacy. Though the RRFM is you and me. The gift you bring to the event, helps make what the event is for others, just as what others bring to the event makes what the event is for you.

How you can help:

Make the RRFM what you want it to be! If you want to see something happening that isn’t already happening, then make it happen. If you want to see more people there, help spread the word. Invite your friends and please let them know it is a participatory event.

Please help us keep the RRFM a 100% free and non-commercial event. Leave the money and business cards at home. Come enjoy giving for the sake of giving.
